Cellar Keeper Skills Tier List

Ranked upgrade priority for Cozy Mode's seven skills.

Last updated:

This Cellar Keeper skills tier list ranks all seven Cozy Mode abilities you can upgrade five times each while sorting 2,448 bottles. Speedrun Mode offers no skills; Hardcore Mode tests movement without forgiving breakage. Use this page when you have skill points banked and want a confident answer before opening the upgrade menu.

Pair rankings with How to Prioritize Skills for phase-based budgets and with Getting Started if you still confuse label lines or map symbols.

Tier definitions

  • S Tier — Core picks that define run speed; level in first third of cellar.
  • A Tier — Strong quality-of-life; level during midgame pushes.
  • B Tier — Situational or late luxury; level when S and A are online.
  • C Tier — Lowest priority; level for completionism or specific room layouts.

Tiers assume standard Cozy progression with shelf points favoring small shelves first.

S Tier — Essential

Batch Grab

Batch Grab is the single most important skill in Cellar Keeper. It lets you pick up multiple bottles per action, multiplying the value of every walk from chaos piles to cabinets. Without it, ten-bottle carry cap feels theoretical — you spend more time clicking singles than routing.

Level Batch Grab to at least three before heavy spending elsewhere. Full mechanics: Batch Grab.

Spot Matches

Spot Matches highlights bottles that match your active sorting needs, reducing time spent reading second-line wine types in dim racks. It teaches pattern recognition early and stays valuable when series numbers like 4/9 clutter the floor.

Level alongside Batch Grab. Full breakdown: Spot Matches.

A Tier — Strong midgame

Quick Order

Reorders your left-side carry list into a smarter deposit sequence. Prevents shelf claim mistakes when hands are full and you would otherwise place brands out of optimal order.

Grab after Batch Grab level 2–3 if you frequently carry mixed loads across wings.

Target Hint

Provides directional guidance toward relevant cabinets or bottles. Strong when the central map symbols blur together in late-game rooms with repeated iconography.

Prioritize over Quick Order if you batch well but get lost; reverse if you know routes but fumble placements.

Sprint

Increases movement speed between distant racks. Value scales with cellar size — weak in tutorial zones, excellent after 50% completion when trips lengthen.

Do not pick Sprint before Batch Grab unless you are roleplaying a no-grab challenge.

B Tier — Late luxury

Auto Place

Automates placement when conditions are satisfied. Powerful during cleanup sweeps with few remaining types per room, weaker while you still learning gray versus yellow feedback from How to Organize Bottles.

Buy after S and A tiers unless you are closing the final 10% of bottles.

C Tier — Situational

Jump

Improves vertical navigation. Some wings benefit; others are flat. Lowest average value across the full 2,448-bottle run.

Level when you personally notice jump gaps costing more time than one more Auto Place rank.

Mode-specific notes

Cozy Mode — follow tiers top to bottom.

Speedrun Mode — tiers irrelevant; practice raw routes from Cozy Mode vs Speedrun Mode.

Hardcore Mode — tiers unchanged, but breakage fear may make Jump feel higher stress; weigh comfort over rank.

Cooldown and refresh tip

Several skills cooldown between uses. Optional tip: quit and relaunch to refresh cooldowns without losing bottle progress. Speedrun players ignore this; Cozy organizers may use it between wings.

Revisit this tier list after major patches if EgoTrampoline rebalances cooldowns or upgrade costs. Until then, Batch Grab and Spot Matches remain the undisputed S tier of Cellar Keeper Cozy builds.
